Emily's Birthday Mall Scavenger Hunt...Busted by Barney Fife!!!

Today was Kari's friend, Emily's birthday party. She had planned to have a scavenger hunt at Collin Creek Mall this afternoon for her party. Emily's mom, Becky, put together a great hunt with instructions to take pictures at each stop. So off I went with my group of girls....Kari, Anna (from gymnastics), Brianna (also from gymnastics), Kelsey (gymnastics) and Jordan (a friend of Emily's).

Our first stop was the Candy Land candy store.

Next we were off to find the gumball machine outside Origins.

Then we had to find the American Eagle store.

Next, off to find some Webkinz at The Limited Too!

Next on the hunt was some cool shades at Claire's.

Yes, that's right...as we were leaving Claire's, Barney Fife (a.k.a Collin Creek Mall Security) informed us we were not allowed to have a scavenger hunt in the mall....it was disruptive to the patrons and some of the stores don't like it. Now we had 3 groups of girls with 2 adults in each group....far from being disruptive, but whatever! I almost asked him if I could take a picture of him with the girls...you know, for blogging purposes. But I figured I better not press my luck or I could end up in the Collin Creek Mall jail. And I had given my last quarter to Kari at the gumball machine, so I wouldn't even be able to make my one phone call!! Anyway, he then escorted us (yes, I said escorted) over to the food court to meet up with the other groups.

Then 3 security guards in different positions kept an eye on us to make sure we were not going to escape and start the scavenger hunt again. They were acting like we had our girls at the mall teaching them how to shoplift! Jeez!! So we opted for some ice cream and opening presents since the Collin Creek SWAT team was keeping tabs on us! Did they really have nothing better to do than watch the "criminal" SUV driving, suburban, PTA moms??? I mean, come on!! Can't anyone have fun anymore???
