Kari’s birthday was in June, but at the time things were crazy with the end of school and Ashley’s graduation. So I promised her she could have a birthday party later in June or July.
Fast forward to August and still no party. People, this is what happens when they get older. Consider this your warning….one day you will not count down the days until their birthday party and go above and beyond to have the best party on the block. It happens to the best of us….we have good intentions, but no energy to deal with the drama of a 9 year olds birthday party. I’m just sayin’…..
Kari finally begged enough that I couldn’t take hearing about it anymore and gave in to a slumber party and bowling. Steve strategically planned a business trip right around that time. So she invited a few of her friends from gym to spend the night…..
We had birthday cake ice cream and the little stinker got more birthday presents…
This is where they bunked for the night….
In the morning we headed to the bowling alley….
And what would any good party be without Twister???
So she finally got her birthday party and I can now let go of some of my “mom guilt”….it was a win/win for everyone :)
Until next time…..
