We headed out early Wednesday morning for Galveston. Ashley had freshman orientation all day Wednesday and half a day on Thursday. Kari and I decided Schlitterbahn Galveston would be a much better idea for us on Wednesday….and we were right! What a fun place….sorry I didn’t take any pictures (didn’t want to take my camera in and risk it getting wet).
If you are headed to Galveston any time soon, I would definitely recommend going to Schlitterbahn. It is a little on the pricey side, but well worth the money. It is very family friendly and very small child friendly. Once you pay admission, life jackets and tubes are free of charge. The tubes come in singles and doubles….the doubles have a child version where one of the holes is closed in. That way even the little ones can participate in the lazy river and white water river, and most of the rides. There are a couple kids play areas and several shallow pool areas. Kari, of course, is a daredevil and we rode all the rides. Our favorite part hands down was the white water river….
The coolest thing was that the lazy river, the white water river, and the torrent river (wavy) all ran into each other….we rode the white water river multiple times and never had to get out of our tube.
a bottle of sunscreen $10
a new bathing suit for mom $45
a new bathing suit for Kari $15
2 admission tickets to Schlitterbahn $65
a bottle of Aloe Vera with lidocaine for our sunburns $8
spending the day with my favorite girl and laughing and screaming all day…..priceless!!
Until next time….
