Seattle...coffee or beer??

There are 2 things Seattle is known for...having great coffee and having great beer. Since I am not a coffee drinker, I felt obligated to partake in the latter with 100% enthusiasm. I'm just sayin'. Our Seattle friends, Sheldon and Susie, picked us up on Saturday and we headed off for a day of fun! Our first stop...This cute little store has a wide variety of beer and wine and happens to be one of the only places that carries Steve's all time favorite beer. The bonus...they have beers on tap so you can drink and shop at the same time. Love it!

Here is our only group picture we took all weekend....

Next stop...Red Hook Brewery for lunch and more beer tasting.

Lunch was yummy...best salmon ever!!

Then we were off to check in to our hotel in downtown Seattle and get ready for dinner and a show. We were on the 27th floor of the hotel with a panoramic window directly in front of our bed. Here are a few of the night views from our room....

We had dinner at an amazing seafood restaurant, Etta's. Here is Susie ready for some crab legs...
Then we caught a show, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. It was really good, but very long!! Not to mention that 10pm in Seattle feels like midnight to us Texas folks!! When we came out it was snowing....
Sunday morning, Steve and I were up at the crack of dawn (damn time change!!). We went up to the top floor of the hotel for a little breakfast and some great views....
Next we were off on a scenic drive up to the Salish Lodge & Spa for brunch.
This is the Salish Lodge
Right behind it is this beautiful waterfall...
We ventured out to a gazebo to snap some pictures, but it was short and sweet because it was FREEZING!!!
We headed back to downtown to the Pike Place Market for a little shopping...
And finally, I just couldn't resist getting a shot of our rental car covered in snow...

We had a great weekend..such a blast!!

A big thank you to Pop and Mimi for keeping Kari this weekend and keeping up with her busy social calendar!!

And of course, a thank you to Sheldon and Susie, for being the best tour guides ever!!

Until next time....
