Wednesday Update....

So...I have a little time on my hands tonight because the A/C in our house is broken (seriously????) and the guy is just now getting here to fix it...yes, it is 9:30pm. No use putting Kari to bed because he has to get up in the attic right outside her room. So she is watching everything he is doing and I have a few minutes to do a little update for the week. I have been taking photos to practice on my new camera. Tonight was Skate Night at Thunderbird and I am not so impressed with some of my pictures....user error I am sure!! Might help if I actually read the user's manual instead of pretending like I know what I am doing!! I will put it on my list of things to do!!

Yesterday, Kari got to celebrate her birthday with her class at school. Since she has a summer birthday, her teacher let her pick a day to celebrate. Like the kid doesn't already try to celebrate her birthday for 2 weeks...now we get to add an extra day into the mix. Actually it is really nice of her teacher to do that...it just made Kari's week! Here are a few shots I took of her before school. Since the "party police" at the school forbid the parents from attending the 15 minute party at the end of the day at school. God forbid, we might actually get to see what our kids during school hours and, gasp, in their classroom. Do I sound a little bitter??? Life is just too serious now...when do kids get to have fun anymore??? Okay...I will step down off my soapbox and proceed with the pictures.

Tonight was McCall Skate Night! We loaded up the car with Blair, Brock, Kari, and Caitlin and headed to Thunderbird for some skatin' fun and some A/C. I was NOT going to stay home tonight in this hot, muggy house! By the time we got home, the sun was down and it had cooled some and, oh yea, the A/C guy was on his way. Otherwise, I would be blogging from Motel 6 where they leave the light on for me!! So here are some pics from tonight. Some turned out good...others not so impressed! Oh yea, Ashley met us up there because she is the best big sister ever!!

Yes, I did let Kari skate....but she was very careful and SLOW!! Good thing...no falls tonight!

BTW, check out the carpet at Thunderbird....do you think they have ever updated that place in the last 40 years??? I guess that is part of the "charm", every time you go in there, you feel like you are back in middle school on a Friday night, holding hands with the guy you are "going with" and skating to some Journey song! Oh the memories!! Okay, I guess that is it for now. Tomorrow Kari and 4 of her friends are having "Pizza & Polish" with the second grade teachers ( a silent auction prize). I will post tomorrow with pictures from that....guess I better read the manual tomorrow!!

Until next time....

Update: 10:30pm Oh, sweet A/C!!! The guy fixed our A/C in an hour....pay that man some overtime! Oh wait....we just did!! It was money well spent to not have to sleep in a hot house or Motel 6 (you can turn the light off now!)
