So, many of you know that Kari broke her arm at gymnastics on Tuesday night!! She had surgery at Children's Hospital on Wednesday morning and we just got home today. The longest 48 hours of my life!! And I was probably awake for 45 of those hours!! You could say I am a little irritable...you know, more so than normal!
I am pretty sure we just spent her college education money on 2 ambulance rides. Yes, I said 2. One from the gym to Medical Center of Plano and one from Plano to Children's Hospital in Dallas. How sad was it that my daughter has just broken her arm and I am thinking, "Shoot, I wish I had my camera so I could take pictures of her on her first ambulance ride!!" A little inappropriate, huh?? Mimi took some pictures on her iPhone of Kari's arm when we got to Children's, but I decided not to post them here....it might gross some people out. But if you want to see, let me know and I will email them to you.
Tonight, one of Kari's friends from gym stopped by with a present for her and some cards that the girls at gym made for her. It just made her night!! That and a visit from Prissy....her favorite dog in the world!! She must have reread those cards 50 times! So good to see her smile again!
These girls are sooo sweet! We are so blessed to have our "gymnastics family"!! They have been great! Kari is very lucky to have so many great friends!
The little princess is getting a little demanding tonight, but I guess I will cut her some slack since she has been through so much!! She asked if she could have a bell to ring when she needs something....I'm gonna go ahead and say no to that one!!
So let's just pray she actually sleeps tonight! She was wide awake most of the night last night...probably because she slept all day! Anyway, we were walking the halls of the hospital and having a snack of Jell-o around 2 am!! I wish they would have given me some of that morphine to bring home with me....I haven't heard her that quiet for 7 years!! See for yourself what morphine does to Kari.

Poor baby!! You can't help but feel sorry for her! Did I mention what a trooper she was?? She did not cry once...and I know it had to hurt. She was so brave. I am so proud of her for that....she is one tough little girl!!
