Sky High Gymnastics Meet!

Well...this Saturday morning found us in The Colony at the Sky High Gymnastics meet. Kari did great as did the rest of her team. I am so proud of each and every girl on her team...they have all worked so hard and it is so great to see them improve meet after meet! Well, all the hard work has paid off....the girls took 1st place!!!!!The girls were so excited and so were the parents!! It was a great moment!! The best part is the huge trophy the team got...it is almost as big as some of the girls!



So of course....I took video of all her routines today...some better than others. The setup of the gym didn't make taking video or pictures very easy...so I apologize for the quality (I sure would like a video camera...hint, hint). Anyway, her scores were: Vault--9.4, Bars--7.7, Beam--8.0, Floor--8.8. I am so proud of her...she got a medal, 3 blue ribbons, and 1 red ribbon.

In between Kari's vault runs her coach had a little talk with her. After the meet I asked her what he said to her. Her reply..."He told me that his grandmother can run faster than I was running" Too funny!! She really does need to pick up the pace!

So another meet down and 2 more to go and then the State Meet!! I am so proud of Kari and all that she has accomplished. She truely amazes me everytime I see her compete. It is hard to put it into words. My eyes welled up with tears today when they were called for 1st place...I guess just because I know the hours and hours of hard work that each girl puts in every week, it was so great to see them so excited!

A special thank you to the "grandparents" that come to every meet....Pop, Mimi, Granny, and Grandpa....it is so special to Kari that you come and watch her. She is so lucky to bring along her own little cheering section. And no, Pop, you can't yell at the judges.....
