What a weekend!!! The Plano Aerobats hosted their annual gymnastics meet Mardi Gras Style!! It was so much fun....good thing considering I volunteered both days for it. Kari and I both had a blast, but we are dead TIRED!!! I'm not sure who is closer to a meltdown, me or her!!
Kari had a full house of people who came to see her compete! Of course, Steve, Ashley, and I, both sets of grandparents, 2 girls from her school and their moms! Kari is so lucky to have such a great support system to come and encourage her. She did great and had a wonderful time which is what it is all about. Her scores this time were:
Vault: 8.7, Bars: 8.5, Beam: 8.3, and Floor: 8.35
We are so proud of all her hard work and her winning smile!! Her team took 4th place. The level 4 team did so well, I am so proud of each and every one of them!!
Here are all the videos I took for the events. They are not the greatest quality because 1. I did it with my digital camera (a video camera would be a great birthday present for me hint!hint!) and 2. I am new at this gymnastics mom thing...I'm not really up to speed on the where the best places are to sit and how to get the best angles! So here you go:

So it was a blue ribbon day for Kari....she got one for each event that she scored over 8.0 (which was all of them) and she got a 5th blue ribbon for her all around score!
Kari wasn't the only winner in the family...her Granny Lance won 2 raffle prizes--golf for 4 at Stonebriar and a bath basket! I was also a winner...not a blue ribbon, but $50 to Maggiano's..YUMMY!!
That's it for now...I will add more details about the rest of the festivities tomorrow as I am sooo tired and my bed is calling my name!! By the way, Kari won the meltdown contest!! It wasn't 2 minutes after I typed that line that she lost it...over the color of her Mardi Gras mask from the goody bag!
